From Book and Stage to Screen: The Journey of Adaptation
Ever wondered how your favourite books and plays are transformed into captivating films and TV series? S.O.U.L festival will be hosting a fascinating conversation on the art of adaptation, exploring how stories evolve from page and stage to screen. Showcasing the variety of narratives being adapted for the screen today-such as Queenie, Grime Kids, Been So Long, Mr Loverman, and The Confessions of Frannie Langton – they’ll discuss the expanding and diversifying sources of stories that are making a significant impact in film and television. Hosted by Nels Abbey, acclaimed author and founder of the Writers Guild, this event will feature a panel of special guests including TV producer Nadine Marsh-Edwards (Been So Long) and Caleb Azuma Nelson (Open Water) who bring their unique insights into the adaptation process.
