Greenacre Films and The Story Compound have been selected by the BFI, as one of the six teams to run a talent lab as part of their Creative Challenge Fund for 2024-2025

‘The Residency’ is a talent and IP accelerator that identifies screenwriting talent with global perspectives, and aims to fast-track the production of films for local and international markets, developed by Tolu Stedford and Charlotte Knowles of Story Compound in partnership with Greenacre Films Exec Producers Nadine Marsh-Edwards and Amanda Jenks and will prioritise female and non-binary writers from the Global Majority, and focusing on action and thriller films created by 10 writers or writer/directors.

Applications are open from 24th June – 21st July 24.

  • Applications are open to UK-based writers or writer/directors working on an action and thriller feature film.

  • You must be available to participate in both phases of the programme (16th September 2024 – 31st March 2025).

  • Applications are open to writers who have 3+ years working in the TV, film, and screen sector industry. This can be your first feature film project.

  • We encourage those who identify as Global MajorityFemale and/or LGBTQIA+ to apply.
